The Secure Land Communications business unit at Airbus has presented MXLINK, a Secure Mobile Virtual Network Operator in Mexico and the first of its kind in Latin America.

Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) are telecommunications service providers that do not have their own network and instead use that of a third party for user connectivity. In this case, it is a Secure MVNO because its broadband services are made available to security forces in order to ensure fully encrypted critical mission communications. The primary users are police officers, firefighters, paramedics and emergency personnel.

MXLINK is multi-operator in the sense that it combines the connectivity capacity of Red Compartida, which this year will provide service to 50% of the nation’s population, as well as the coverage provided by Telcel in Mexico using its 3G and 4G networks. This adds value to customers by providing support through a single contact.

This MVNO enables Mexican authorities to guarantee fully reliable, end-to-end communications in crisis situations, and that are also compatible with existing platforms.

Nae has helped to coordinate the implementation of the technology plan, which includes integrating technology platforms, systems and new applications. We have also participated in planning and carrying out the official launch, from devising a new service and designing pioneer products, to including digital strategies aimed at gaining market share.
